Foot & Ankle Surgery
Let’s get this out of the way first: surgery to the feet and ankles is almost always a last resort. If we can relieve your pain and get you back to living your best life through conservative remedies like orthotics, physical therapy, shockwave therapy, or other non-invasive treatments, we will.
However, sometimes surgery really is the best (or only) way forward for a specific problem. When that happens, the Foot & Ankle Center of Oklahoma can provide comprehensive and effective surgical care for a wide range of common foot problems.
Our Surgical Training and Experience
So why should you trust Foot & Ankle Center of Oklahoma to perform your foot surgery?
Dr. Darren Elenburg is a highly trained and credentialed foot surgeon with more than two decades of experience, and is dedicated to improving his surgical skills even further.
After earning his degree, Dr. Elenburg completed a four-year surgical residency—most podiatrists train for only two or three years. He is board-certified (an optional credential requiring additional training) in both foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery from the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. Elenburg is trained in several advanced techniques and state-of-the art surgical procedures, including the Lapidus procedure for bunion correction and minimally invasive ankle arthroscopy. This will often give our patients surgical options that require fewer incisions, are less costly, and heal faster than more traditional open surgeries.
Foot and Ankle Surgical Procedures
Our office is equipped with a comfortable and sterile operating room where we handle many of our minor-to-moderate surgical procedures directly. This is a convenient, low-stress, and cost-effective option for patients who require procedures such as:
- Ingrown toenail removal
- Hammertoe correction
- Some bunion surgeries
- Skin biopsies
- Removal of warts, cysts, corns, etc.
More complex or extensive surgeries may sometimes need to be performed at a nearby surgical center. Examples include:
- Severe deformity correction (flat feet, severe bunions or hammertoes, etc.)
- Reconstructive surgeries for the ankle, arthritic joints, etc.
- Ankle arthroscopic surgery
- Minimally invasive TOPAZ surgery for recalcitrant plantar fasciitis
Our Surgical Partnerships and Locations
Dr. Elenburg maintains partnerships with several different area hospitals and medical centers, allowing for maximum comfort and convenience for his patients—and access to a broad range of state-of-the-art facilities and technology.
In addition to our on-site surgical facility, Dr. Elenburg performs surgery at the following locations:
- OCOM North (Oklahoma Center for Orthopaedic & Multi-Specialty Surgery). Many of our most advanced surgeries are performed here. 5925 NW 139th Street
