Telemedicine e-Visits
If you have a concern about your feet or ankles, you shouldn’t have to wait to get the professional advice and evaluation you need. The problem, however, is that it’s not always possible or practical to get to the office.
To help solve this problem, Dr. Elenburg is offering afternoon e-Visits to patients who need to be seen by the doctor but do not need urgent or immediate treatment and cannot (or do not wish to) make an in-person visit.
What Can I Do In an e-Visit? Does It Really Work?
During your e-Visit, Dr. Elenburg can make visual inspections of your foot or ankle condition, review previous charts or diagnostics, talk with you about your symptoms, answer any questions you might have, and make any further treatment recommendations.
If you need any physical products or items that you normally receive through us, or are recommended to you during your e-Visit, we can arrange for you to pick them up at our office. No need to get out of the car—just call when you arrive and we’ll take it out to you.
In other words, yes, e-Visits really work! They’re a fantastic option for many kinds of appointments, including initial evaluations, follow-ups, and most other non-emergency appointments.
How Do I Request an e-Visit with Dr. Elenburg?
You can request an e-Visit directly from the patient portal. Select a day and time in the afternoon that works best for you; we’ll either approve and schedule your request or follow up with alternatives. (You can also request regular, in-person visits this way, if you weren’t aware!)
Of course, you can always call our office if you need help. However, you will need to use the patient portal to make an official request, and for the appointment itself.

What Will I Need for My e-Visit?
You do not need any special software or equipment for your appointment, beyond some basic tools that you probably already have in your home. You will need:
- Any device that can handle a video call. That includes almost any smartphone. Laptops work too, as long as they have a way to capture and record video and audio.
- Access to our online patient portal. If you already have an account and use it to review your health records and medications and pay your bills, great! If not, go ahead and create a new account. It’s free.
On the day of your appointment, at least 20 minutes before your appointment is scheduled to begin, you will need to log into your patient portal, click to begin the appointment, and answer a series of questions. Once those questions are complete, you’ll be prompted to join the video chat with Dr. Elenburg.
These questions can take some time to answer fully, which is why we want to make sure you give yourself enough time to complete them. That way your “face time” with the doctor can begin on schedule!
What Does It Cost?
As of March 2020, Medicare is now covering telemedicine, as are almost all insurance carriers and policies. So your appointment will be billed through your insurance as a normal appointment would.
There is a currently a $60 base fee that must be paid before your e-Visit can be requested. If you have previously been treated by the office and are being seen for a recheck, then please contact our office to discuss charges because this fee may not apply. If your final out-of-pocket obligation after insurance is billed is less than $60, we will issue you a refund check at the end of the month.
The Doctor Will See You Now … Wherever You Are
If you’re ready to request your e-Visit with Dr. Elenburg, go ahead and check out the patient portal whenever you’re ready to begin the process.
And if you have any further questions or concerns that are not addressed on this page, please don’t hesitate to contact our office at (405) 418-2676. We are always happy to help!
